International Alumni

Out of sight, out of mind? Not as far as the University of Amsterdam (UvA) is concerned. You’ve finished your studies at the UvA, so why not stay in touch with your old classmates and alma mater?

What can international alumni expect from the UvA? In 2012, we will offer more information in English through this website, to keep you up to date on developments at the University of Amsterdam and elsewhere. We intend to launch a digital newsletter for alumni overseas as well. We organise annual academic gatherings in Amsterdam such as the University Day and the AUV Day, as well as local meetings for international alumni in major cities such as Barcelona, Berlin, New York, Paris and Shanghai. Suppose your work takes you to a place where you don’t know anyone. The UvA can help you find the names of other UvA alumni at your new location, or provide contact information for someone in the Netherlands. International alumni can help the UvA as well. They can offer new insights into the relationship between study and professional practice, and inform potential new students about opportunities at the UvA.

Studying represents a crucial phase in your life – you meet new people and access the wide world of knowledge. Why would you leave that world behind when you enter the real world?
